Our thoughts and emotions are inextricably linked. This means that you cannot have a thought without having an emotion. And, you cannot have an emotion without having a thought. The mind and the body are not separate.

Our emotions live in our bodies. Think “emotional body.” If we have internal thoughts such as “I am bad or ugly,” the emotion will match that. If we have thoughts such as “I am beautiful and loved,” the emotional feeling will match that. Our bodies are sweet little animals. They are our most loyal servants. They will try to “do” anything we tell them to do. When we direct our thoughts into loving thoughts, the emotional body responds accordingly.

A conscious practice of generating positive thoughts is good, but there is a more profound practice – and that is to include the body.

It is very simple. Touch your body, in honor and embrace, with loving intent – and the emotional body will respond accordingly.
